It's been a pretty good weekend! Last night, I had a good friend of mine over and I got to show him Lucio Fulci's Gates of Hell trilogy for the first time. I always enjoy showing my friends Italian horror films because of how bonkers some of them can be, and I don't think he was disappointed in the slightest here. There were lots of great reactions and plenty of laughs to be had all-around. Not to mention, the zombies, mutilations and vomiting of intestines looked great on the big screen. I'll be making my writeups for these films this week, which should just take a couple of days to do. I always love rigging together double / triple features to show at home, and I'm hoping to do several more as the year goes on. At some point, I may make a post showing how I put these movie nights together; such as trailers, snack bar ads, short films and other things. That's for another time, though.

With these movies rewatched, this ends my revisiting of the classic-era Fulci films that I currently own. After I finish their pages, I'll be moving into what I think of as the middle-era of Fulci's horror career. This era is sadly when Fulci began to succumb to a few sicknesses, and the quality of his films began to fluctuate quite a bit. I currently don't own his fantasy film Conquest or his action film Warriors of the Year 2072, so I'll be skipping those for now. Next up in my marathon should be his final giallo: Murder Rock: Dancing Death. After that, I'll be following it up with his psychic film Aenigma and Zombi 3, which he was actually unable to complete himself. I've only seen Aenigma once, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that one holds up on a second viewing. I remember it being on the slower side, but it had a few memorable sequences, such as one where a woman is covered in snails and slugs. I guess I'll find out soon enough!

That's all for movie stuff for right now. Expect writeups for City of the Living Dead, The Beyond, and The House by the Cemetery very soon, as well as a few other additions to the site. Cool Sites is now live, so I'll be adding several other buttons and site links that I've been meaning to put up for a while. Keep an eye out for those if you're interested in seeing some fun highlights from the indie side of the Web. Until then, take it easy!
